About Al Nur Cultural Center
The Al Nur Cultural Center journey started in 1991. A small group of Muslims
came together with a vision of establishing Muslim community life in accordance
with the direction of the late Imam Warith U Deen Muhammad who once visited
the site and was pleased (May G-d be pleased with him). This group of Muslims
formed a group called Sahaba and purchased the tract of land totaling 82 acres.
The group agreed that 12 acres of the land would be designated for use as a
cultural center and is where Al Nur Cultural center is now housed.
A facility was placed on the land and over the years has served as the host
site for Camp Humanity summer camp; CMSEF conference; BEAM conference;
numerous Eid and interfaith celebrations, and has a Muslim cemetery on site.
Al Nur Cultural Center also serves the community as a partner with
Anissah2 food bank. Al Nur Cultural Center serves as a pantry and distribution
site for Anissah2. Together they Anissah2 and Al Nur have successfully fed
countless numbers of families and individuals. Al Nur Cultural Center has grown
tremendously and intends to continue to grow. We welcome like-minded
partners to grow with us.
